Mildura Builders 9 – Wiring Of A House.
Mildura Builders – Samuels Building
Welcome back to Mildura Builders – Samuels Building and our continuing series where we have a look at the process of building a house. The electrical rough-in stage of the house building process will usually happen at the same time as the plumbing rough-in stage and takes place before the brickwork is done and before the plaster is installed.
The electricians will usually go around the house and nail all the wall plates on first for the power points and the light switches and then they will start to run their wires through the house. They will usually set the cable reels up somewhere in the house and drag them all through to various parts.
I hope that you enjoyed our short video and having a look at the Electrical Rough-in stage of building a house. Remember if you have any queries make sure you email us or give us a call as we will be only to happy to help.
In the meantime stay tuned for our next video at Mildura Builders – Samuels Building which will be having a look at the brickwork stage of the house building process.
Mildura Builders 8 – Plumbing Rough-In
Mildura Builders – Samuels Building
Sorry for the delay but we are finally here with our 8th video on the series of following the progress of building a house. In this video we are having a look at the plumbing rough-in stage of building a house. This is where the hot and cold water pipes and all the waste pipes are run through the walls before any wall linings such as plaster get installed or brickwork gets done on the outside.
The plumber will also run any pipework required for Gas or other services that may be required in relation to any heating or cooling. You will see in this house that they have used the plastic pips for the hot and cold water. Some plumbers still use copper but more and more the plastic pipes have become the way to go.
Anyway have a look at the latest video and remember if you have any questions make sure you give us a call or email at Mildura Builders – Samuels Building.
I hope that you enjoyed this latest video from Mildura Builders – Samuels Building. Remember to give us an email or a call if you have any queries and in the meantime stay tuned for our next video where we will have a look at the electrical rough in stage.
Mildura Builders 7 – Sewer Mains Installation
Mildura Builders – Samuels Building
Hello and welcome to our latest video which is the seventh in our series on building a house. As discussed before the series is bit like a video diary of the different steps involved in building a house. Today we are looking at the stage of installing the sewer mains and storm-water pipes around the perimeter of a new house.
Luckily the sewer mains are new so it is nice clean work and although the thought of working with sewer mains sounds not nice at this stage of the game there is nothing to worry about.
Usually all the inground pipework is installed as soon as the roof goes on. This work can be done after the slab and before the frame goes up but the job seems to flow best to allow the frames to go up and the roof to go on and then while the plumber is doing the inground pipes around the outside while other people are working on the inside of the house.
We like to get the pipes in the ground at this stage, which is nice and early though because then the trenches get a chance to be compacted really well with all the foot traffic around the the job for the rest of the time that the house is getting built. Trades like the bricklayers help compact the ground and settle the trenches right in. If the pipes were left to the last minute and then paving etc was done over the top and it rained everything would subside leaving a big mess.
So take a look at our latest video in the process of building a house and remember that even though it is a look at sewer mains it is all safe viewing.
We hope you enjoyed our latest video. Stay tuned for our next video at Mildura Builders – Samuels Building which will be a look at the plumbing rough-in (pipe pre-work) that gets done prior to plaster being installed.

Samuels Building
Hello & Welcome to Mildura Builders – Samuels Building and our fifth video in our series on building a house. These videos are not a “How to” as such as we don’t go into that sort of detail but they are a look at each step of the process for people who are interested in how a house actually comes together.
In this video we are having a look at the frame stage of the house which is often the most impressive stage for the owner or the public as the house seems to go from nothing (just a slab or floor) through the the actual shape of a house often within a week especially because we now use pre-fabricated a frames a lot of the time.
So go and grab a coffee and sit back and enjoy our short little video showing the frames and trusses stage of a house and make sure you let us know if you have any queries.
